An Ode To Love – Valentine’s Day Poems

· · · ·

With Valentine’s Day next week, the focus will be on Valentine’s Day-themed EVERYTHING for the next week or so! Here is an activity when you can start the week by writing love poems, but instead of mushy, sappy love poems, your students can write an acrostic poem and poems to both something they love and don’t love so much. As for the poem to something they don’t love so much, it is a great opportunity to talk about tone – specifically a sarcastic tone.  Young kiddos often have a little bit of a difficult time picking up on underhand meanings, so hopefully these poems will help!

As a little Valentine’s Day gift to all of my fabulous followers, here is the set of poem templates. Hopefully you will find some great use out of them as well!

Also, I want to give a big thanks to Kaleigh from Kaleigh’s Klassroom who was so kind to give me the Liebster Blog Award! Thank you so much, Kaleigh! Make sure to stop by her cute blog!

Finally, a quick reminder that tomorrow is the LAST day to enter the ‘I Love 2nd’ Giveaway. It will end tomorrow night with a winner being chosen on Wednesday. There are some amazing resources being given away, so make sure to enter!
